V1.00002
Version history:
V1.00002 September 1997 : edited schematic; *ALE should be low
V1.00001 February 1997 : some editing done
V1.0 1996
These are instructions for building a ATID-harddisk interface for
an Amiga 500 with KickStart 1.3. This may not work on other systems.
Actually it may not work on any other Amiga than
on the one used in testing. :)
The drive was CP 3044 fitted inside the A500 and powered by the
A500 power source. The other end of the IDE-cable was soldered
directly to the 68000.
There is also a device driver and its sources included.
It supports only one drive and does not use any interrupt.
The schematics are in the file schem.iff
Of course the interface may be built with different components as
long as it does the same as this one.
The Amiga 500 and ATID connectors can be found from iff-file
Connector.pic (c) P. Pihkala
and the ATID connector from text file atidcon.txt.
To test the interface and find out drive parameters use
the program IdentifyDrive (it's in the software directory)
If your drive does not support Logical Block Addressing
you will need to compile the ide.device after editing
the rdwt.asm file equ's for the right amount of heads and sectors.
A sample mountlist is in ide.ml
You will need the FastFileSystem in L: directory
An example command for introducing a partition to the system:
Mount fre: from ide.ml
Usefull files for a bootdisk are:
startup.seq (rename to s/startup-sequence of the boot floppy)
assit (assigns assigns to the harddisk, copy it to the hd partition)
Author of the rdwt.asm and most of the other files: Mika Leinonen
